This week I met Makenna LaFortune. She is a junior at CSULB and is majoring in dance! She mostly dances ballet and jazz. She is taking many classes that are broadening her knowledge and creativity in dance. One interesting topic we discussed was about copyrights. Plagiarism is a total different situation in the field of dance than when some plagiarizes writing. Basically if an artist is well-known and high paid they are able to get away with it! This is something she currently learned in one of her classes this semester. It was interesting to hear and learn a little about a dancer’s world! It was great being able to meet her and talk about dance. I have always loved dancing and it was awesome that we had that in common. I admire all the time and dedication dancers put in to create art that convey emotion through choreography. I wish her the very best in her career and hope to see her perform one day!
